2018 Annual Conference

The 2018 Utah Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (UAND) Annual Conference Planning Committee is accepting speaker proposals. The 2018 UAND Annual Conference scheduled for March 29th and 30st 2018 in Murray, UT at the Intermountain Medical Doty Education Center will bring together an estimated 300 food and nutrition professionals.

The deadline for application submission is November 25, 2017.
You will be notified by December 9, 2017 if your application has been accepted.

The potential speaker must provide:

  • Your presentation title.
  • An overview of what your presentation will cover, relevance to the field of nutrition, dietetics, culinary/food service or other topics that can enhance the professional lives of our members.
  • Presentation objectives.
  • A resume, curriculum vitae, or biography, which is no longer than 4 pages.
  • Conflicts of interest, if applicable.
  • Evidence of excellent presentation skills, if requested.

 

If your application is accepted, we will provide:

  • Transportation to and from the venue for out-of-state speakers. Overnight accommodations will be provided if required.
  • A speaker contract. 
  • Mutually agreeable compensation. Local speakers will be given the option of a gratis two-day UAND Annual Conference fee.

 

We are particularly interested in speakers who are knowledgeable in the following:


Evidence based practice
SNF and ALF Regulations and Charting
Functional foods
Nutrition guidelines, ie: celiac disease, hypertension, allergies, FODMAPs, etc.
Supplement use vs. whole foods
Skeptical Skills
Bariatric management
Eating disorders, diabulimia, fad diets
Meal kit delivery services
Medication side effects
Fit bits/apps/health improvement tech
GMOs
Integrative Medicine
Food additives
Immune-modulating nutrition
Shared accountability, population HM, and integrated healthcare
