May 4th, 2015

Carrie is a senior in the BYU Didactic Program and has been chosen as a recipient of one of the UAND scholarships.

Her professional and academic goals include obtaining a Master’s Degree in Nutritional Science at BYU while completing her dietetic internship, working towards becoming a Certified Diabetes Educator to expand her knowledge about diabetes management and counseling, and eventually returning to school to obtain a doctoral degree.

Carrie is described as an outstanding student, very intelligent, and an excellent teacher who is able to present information to students in a way that promotes learning and understanding. For this reason, she was chosen along with another student to have sole responsibility for Microbiology and Molecular Biology 222, working together to provide weekly training for 10 teaching assistants ordering and preparing microbial cultures and other supplies, and assigning grades at the end of the semester. Carrie is “truly an exceptional young woman with high moral values.”
