As you may have heard, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ “Daily News” is no longer including “Registered Dietitians in the News” due to the large number of RDNs in the media around the nation. However, we would like to continue this on a state level and post links to the articles and segments that Utah RDNs contribute to on a side bar of this blog.
If you are involved with the media on a regular, semi-regular, or even one-time basis and are willing, please contact me with the information at pr@eatrightutah.org so we can post it on our blog. We will post these to further our goal of promoting registered dietitian nutritionists as the experts in nutrition and to inspire more of us to find a presence in the media.
National Nutrition Month is a great opportunity to write an article for your local/county newspaper or magazine. They are looking for content from nutrition experts like you! If you would like to do this, but need direction on how to go about it, please email me and we can put you in touch with the right person. Remember to do this soon because many local-level publications are printed less frequently.
Finally, we are looking to do some news segments in March to promote National Nutrition Month. If you are interested in being involved with other UAND members in the media, please contact us.
Thank you,
Stephanie Parker, MS, RDN, CD
