I can’t believe it’s already August! August is a great month for eaters (which is everyone, right?), we have the whole month to celebrate the following foods:
- Sandwiches
- Catfish
- Brownies at brunch
- Paninis
- Peach month
- And the 2nd week of August is Nat’l apple week (wahoo apples!)
All of these food holidays are awesome & a great excuse to eat your fave grilled catfish, peach, apple brownie sandwich. But most important is Kids Eat Right month. I’m a huge huge proponent of teaching children to eat well early on in order to expose them to a variety of foods and cooking early on to hopefully teach them to lifelong good & healthy eaters. What better way to instill healthful cooking & eating habits than by promoting childhood nutrition.
The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics’ focus for this celebratory month is to encourage kids (well, really families) to
-shop smart
-cook healthy
-eat right
Here’s one idea how to do so:
What are you doing to shop smarter, cook healthier, and eat right-er? ok I tried.
