We’re excited to be writing the first post for Nutrition Elevated, the Utah Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ new blog! We have been working hard over the past few months to develop a brand new way for you to get the latest UAND news and events. Nutrition Elevated will also be a place for you to get to know UAND board members, Utah dietitians and dietetic students, find great recipes, and get involved in our state professional association. You can sign up to receive each blog post via email by entering your email address in the left-hand column of this page and clicking “subscribe”. Alternatively you can subscribe via RSS feed by clicking the orange icon in the top right-hand corner of the page and entering the appropriate information as prompted.
This is a big week for UAND with our Annual Conference fast approaching on March 29th and 30th. The theme this year is Harvest Ideas, Feed Your Career, Nourish Your Mind. Conference attendees will have the chance to learn more about Nutrition Elevated as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages by visiting us at our table. We will be tweeting live from the conference using the hashtag #UANDconf and encourage you to do the same. Simply search for the hashtag on twitter to see related posts from any user.
UAND has some great presentations lined up for the conference along with an exciting Iron Chef-inspired culinary competition for students and a number of vendors set to exhibit their products and services on Friday. It is not too late to register yourself as a conference attendee for either one or both days! You can find further registration instructions on the conference website.
We would love to hear from you in the comments section below! Introduce yourself and tell us what area of dietetics you work in. If you are a student, what is your dream job?
I love the name of this blog and I appreciate all the work that goes in to keeping us updated in our profession! Thanks social media team for UAND!
Let me be the first to comment and congratulate you on a great start to this blog! My name is Kelli Boi, I am a graduate from the University of Utah coordinated masters program in dietetics. I am currently working as an adjunct nutrition instructor at Weber State University and have recently started as the clinical registered dietitian at Washington Terrace Rehab Care Facility in Ogden, UT. I love keeping my students informed about current hot topics in nutrition. Since I teach a foundation class that fulfills general education requirements, I teach students from a variety of backgrounds with a myriad of career goals and interests. I use current nutrition news to help my students understand how nutrition plays a role in many aspects of their lives.
I am looking forward to the conference this week and I am very excited about the topics this year!
This is cool!
