Awards, Scholarship Description & Process
Awards:
Utah dietitians do great things! Take some time to nominate yourself or a fellow RDN for one of the UAND awards. The description of each award is linked here.
We have created a simple form (link below) for you to use for nominations. Before opening the form, prepare the following information about the nominee:
- A letter of nomination (why they should receive the award)
- Resume
- Information to be entered on the electronic form found on this nominee data sheet (or this sheet for student award).
Nominations are due by March 1, 2024. Awards are presented at the Utah Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Annual Meeting.

Note: If the nominee is chosen, nominators will be contacted at least 2 weeks before the award ceremony to write a short bio to be read during the ceremony. Bios are limited to 250 words or less. During the awards ceremony, nominators may read the bio themselves or opt to have the President-Elect read the bio.
Scholarships:
UAND awards four $500 scholarships per year; three scholarships for graduate students and one scholarship for an undergraduate DPD student. Please see Scholarship categories for eligibility requirements. Nominees for the Outstanding Student Awards are eligible and encouraged to also apply for scholarships.
All application materials should be submitted on or before March 1, 2024.

- Two letters of support (one letter from employment supervisor and one letter from a university faculty member
- Official transcript or signature of faculty advisor verifying GPA (use this form for signature)
The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the Utah Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Annual Meeting. The $500 UAND Scholarship Award will be granted in the Fall of the second year for a student in either a graduate, or undergraduate program. If for any reason, the recipient of the scholarship fails to enter the second year of their program, the scholarship will be awarded to another qualified person.
